About this Event
10 Garden St., Cambridge MA
http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/harvard-events/events-calendar/?trumbaEmbed=view%3devent%26eventid%3d162397839Drawing from the Report of the Presidential Committee on the Harvard & the Legacy of Slavery (H&LS), this six-stop tour, led by Harvard Chaplains, engages with the local geography of African and Indigenous enslavement in words, silence and stillness. Join us as we learn about those who were wrongly oppressed, enslaved, and buried here, but whose dignity and humanity we aim to acknowledge and honor during this exploration. Availability is limited.
The 90-minute tour complements the virtual H&LS tour. We start at the Radcliffe Yard’s Sunken Garden at 10 Garden Street, Cambridge, and end in Christ Church Burying Ground.
These events are open to all Harvard University community members, including students, staff, faculty, postdoc researchers, fellows, families, and affiliates. The tours are accessible to wheelchairs and take place outdoors.
