About this Event
View map Add to calendarJoin us for this wonderful two-part event with artist Eunsoo Jeong (also known as @koreangry) which will include a fireside chat followed by an artist workshop. The event is scheduled on March 4th, Saturday, at 4 PM - 7 PM at the Winthrop Junior Common Room.
The Peggy Schmertzler Leadership Seminar brings transformative leaders working to advance equity for women to share their knowledge and experience with our community. This year, we are inviting Eunsoo Jeong (also known as @koreangry), a Los Angeles-based artist and the creator of Koreangry, a comic/zine series based on her daily struggles as a Korean-American. Koreangry is a 7-inch puppet/doll/armature/character that she created, sort of her alter-ego. The Koreangry zine series illustrates the artist's life journey told with this character––photographed with hand made props in a set. The zines include written excerpts, word-play, poems, comics, crude sketches, and experimental digital collages. Her work speaks on issues of reproductive justice, anti-asian sentiment, being undocumented, immigration, solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, and much more.
This event has been organized by the Harvard College Women's Center and the Office for the Arts in partnership with the Harvard-Radcliffe Asian American Womxn's Association, the Harvard-Radcliffe Asian American Association, the Harvard Korean Association, and Act on a Dream.
