In today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, nurturing innovation and entrepreneurial skills among students is crucial. This presentation explores a teaching approach I have designed called the Octamethod, which is comprised of eight key strategies. These strategies include teaching within a realistic, science and technology-rich framework (such as smart cities), embracing interdisciplinary perspectives, utilizing problem-based learning, focusing on end-to-end solutions, balancing creativity with practicality, cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset, learning from both successes and failures, and encouraging customized student entrepreneurial projects. Developed based on over 25 years of industry innovation, these strategies empower students to thrive in a dynamic technological environment by equipping them with essential skills and fostering a holistic understanding of innovation and entrepreneurship.
