About this Event
Please join us in a three-part series facilitated by scholar and community organizer Alicia Strong. The series focuses on ways North American Albanian communities can build solidarity with Black liberation movements. Each part of the series is stand-alone; however we encourage participants to attend all three in order to fully benefit from Alicia’s familiarity with Albanian culture and her knowledge of grassroots racial justice organizing in the United States. The event is co-sponsored by the Harvard Albanian Student Association and Albanians Active Now.
The third part of the series focuses specifically on actions that Albanians/Albanian-Americans can take in order to not only vocally support but also contribute to Black liberation movements. This session will function more as a workshop and we won't have a dedicated lecture component. We will break up into groups and brainstorm how we can organize our Albanian diaspora to stand in solidarity with Black communities and come up with an action plan that we can walk away with.
