About this Event
224 Western Ave, Allston, MA
Frank Knox Fellow at the Harvard Law School, artist Suley Wellings-Longmore explores Haitian immigrants' epic journey to the United States through painting and sculpture, accompanied by poetry by Seun Matiluko HLS '22. Inspired by the Haitian proverb Kouri lapli, tonbe larivyè – translating to “Running in the rain, falling in the river” – the exhibition asks us to reflect on how a human desire for a better life can lead to unsettling circumstances.
