Rain and Wind: A musical dialogue between classical guitar, flamenco, traditional Persian music and Kamancheh sounds from South Asia

This duet features Ria Modak '22 on guitar & Payam Yousefi PhD '23 on the kamancheh (Persian fiddle). This collaboration is a musical dialogue drawing on influences from classical guitar, flamenco, traditional Persian music, and sounds from South Asia. A spirit of curiosity and exploration of sonic meanings in the contemporary moment fuels this work. The performance consist of 3 original pieces weaved together by free-meter improvisations & modal movements.
