Stop Beating Yourself Up!

Are you a perfectionist? Welcome to the club.  Whether you are a undergraduate or graduate student, perfectionism is common in  cultures that strive for excellence. The upside to perfectionism is that it’s how many of us get to where we are in life. The downside is the personal costs. This 7-session workshop series asks: What’s the difference between perfectionism and striving for excellence? How much fear and anxiety is rooted in believing that you are never doing enough or not worthy enough? Why do I feel like an imposter even when I know others feel that way, too?

Each online session explores a skill that can support you in understanding perfectionism. Together, we will set the compass on a course of self-compassion—and what you will discover along the way may just surprise you.

You are more likely to experience the benefits by attending all 7 sessions. (Note: There is no formal session Spring Break week, March 19, but the faciliator will be available for general Q&A).

Open to all registered Harvard students (undergrads, graduates) who have paid the 2024-2025 Student Health Fee.

If you are interested, please email the group leader directly and include your Student ID number, which allows CAMHS to securely message the workshop/group zoom link. Contact: Tara Cousineau, PhD, tcousineau@huhs.harvard.edu
