Stories of Art 

Join past Harvard Arts Medal recipient cellist Yo-Yo Ma '76 and six students in a conversation about "Music and Human Connection" during this virtual ARTS FIRST event produced by the Office for the Arts at Harvard.

In this three-part series of far-ranging conversations, distinguished Harvard alumni artists will touch on topics such as creativity, spirituality, politics, storytelling, community, healing, the value of artmaking during tumultuous times and the role of curiosity in shaping the future. Additional events include: 

  • Performance and Creative Agility: Actor John Lithgow ’67, film director Mira Nair ’79 and stage director Peter Sellars ‘80, 7 pm (ET) April 22
  • Writing and Inner Witnessing: Novelist Margaret Atwood AM '62, Litt.D. '04 and poet Tracy K. Smith ‘94, with Radcliffe Fellow and poet Tonya M. Foster, 7 pm (ET) April 29
