Edna Andrade’s Eight Studies Based on Navajo Designs represents the artist’s interest in the geometric compositions of Diné (Navajo) weavers. Whether knowingly or not, Andrade was inspired by symbols, colors, and forms that reflect Diné cosmology, philosophy, and histories. This talk will focus on the creative transformations of Diné weavers across generations whose efforts embody Diné resilience and futurity.
