All are invited to celebrate the rich history of Black spirituality through the musical journey of African Americans in the North American Context. In a condensed yet robust lecture, the Rev. Dr. Jones, Assistant Minister/Director in the Memorial Church, will explore the living musical traditions of Black music, revealing the unique characteristics of each genre and style while highlighting American culture and politics, which are steeped in the struggle toward liberation, and the religious and spiritual practices of Black people.
