https://ofa.fas.harvard.edu/dance-infinite-possibilitiesInfinite Possibilities is an annual event series presented by the Office for the Arts (OFA) Dance Program in curatorial collaboration with Boston-based freestyle dancer, educator, and community organizer Ashton Lites, aka, Stiggity Stackz, and his historically-rooted freestyle dance organization Stiggity Stackz Worldwide. Each event provides insight to the history, culture, and concepts behind freestyle dance, a Black American dance form encompassing a vast range of styles and innovations and which continues to have a profound cultural impact worldwide.
This year's Infinite Possibilities: Through Footwork will focus on how footwork is approached across a range of styles. Featuring major freestyle dance innovators representing Krump, House, Chicago Footwork, and GoGo/Beat Ya Feet, the evening will include a short documentary film screening on the history of Krump in Boston; a panel discussion; and a Beat Ya Feat workshop with live DJ.
Itinerary for the evening:
6-6:15: arrive, mix, and mingle
6:15-6:45pm: documentary screening of "For The City" season 1, a history of Boston Krump, created by Stiggity Stackz Worldwide
6:45-7:45pm: panel discussion with Milly 3R aka Girl TightEyex (Krump); Brandon Calhoun, aka Chief Manny (Chicago Footwork); Caleaf Sellers, aka Big Leaf (House) and Darryl Keith (Beat Ya Feet) , moderated by Stiggity Stackz
7:45-8:45pm: Beat Ya Feat workshop led by Daryll Keith with DJ King Genius, followed by open jam
Additionally, the OFA's artists-in-residence The Era Footwork Collective, will be on the panel.
