About this Event
A peer-to-peer program for Harvard College students.
Depression, anxiety, and stress are the most common mental health concerns on campus. We all can feel lost, alone, or overwhelmed. HUGPT is a safe space where students support each other in building healthy and fulfilling relationships that can meaningfully improve mental wellbeing. We follow the interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) modality and are supervised by CAMHS. This means our peer therapists meet weekly with a CAMHS clinician, and your identifying information is not shared.

Harvard Undergraduate Group Peer Therapy (HUGPT) is a peer-facilitated psychotherapy program for fighting depression and anxiety at Harvard. It follows the group interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT-G) model that focuses on increasing social support and building healthy relationships through group conversations. As a clinically-validated therapy model, IPT-G performs as well as the gold-standard of depression & anxiety therapy (CBT).
Join one of several in-person groups of 6-8 students who meet for 90 minutes weekly over the course of a semester. There is an intake process for each student. If the groups fill, please sign up early for next semester. https://forms.gle/kBrjHiHriErWJK2g9
Each group will be facilitated by trained Harvard College students, whom have been trained in IPT-G by professionals. Expert guests are also invited to enrich learning about mental wellbeing. Learn more on the HUGPT website.
In each session, group members will share about what is causing them distress and how they are or aren't currently being supported. Facilitators will then guide the group through structured discussion and exercises to better understand the problem, provide emotional support, and collaboratively problem solve.
