Harvard Undergraduate Group Peer Therapy (HUGPT) is a peer-facilitated psychotherapy program for fighting depression and anxiety at Harvard. It follows the group interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT-G) model that focuses on increasing social support and building healthy relationships through group conversations. As a clinically-validated therapy model, IPT-G performs as well as the gold-standard of depression & anxiety therapy (CBT).

Join an in-person group of 6-8 students who meet for 90 minutes weekly over the course of a semester. Each group will be facilitated by two Harvard College students, both of whom have been trained in IPT-G by professionals. Learn more on the HUGPT website.

In each session, group members will share about what is causing them distress and how they are or aren't currently being supported. Facilitators will then guide the group through structured discussion and exercises to better understand the problem, provide emotional support, and collaboratively problem solve.
