Come visit the Harvard College Observatory, part of the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian. Welcomed by the Outreach Manager, you'll learn about the pioneering astronomers who transformed our understanding of the universe—many of whom were women. You'll also see the historic Great Refractor Telescope, which, when built in 1847, was the largest telescope in the United States and among the largest in the world. Afterward, if the skies are clear, we’ll open a telescope for a close-up look at a cosmic object!
