Kamilla Venner, PhD, Chitina Village (Ahtna Athabascan), Associate Professor, University of New Mexico
Dr. Kamilla Venner is a member of the Native Village of Chitina (Athabascan) and Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of New Mexico. Her research has centered on the crossroads of Western and Indigenous Science to culturally tailor or center evidence-based treatments for addiction. Recently, she traveled to New Zealand to learn how they employ and harness culture to improve wellbeing. Please join us in this discourse about culture clashes and the need to better engage and retain American Indian/Alaska Natives in effective and culturally respectful interventions to improve health and wellbeing.
