In this scene, peasant couple Zerlina and Masetto try to fend off the nobleman Don Giovanni’s amorous advances to Zerlina. Don Giovanni, ever the hedonistic libertine, throws a banquet to ingratiate himself to the couple, but little does he know his ex-lovers Donna Anna and Donna Elvira, accompanied by Don Ottavio have plans to corner him once and for all. Donna Anna reels from Don Giovanni’s murder of her father, Donna Elvira seethes at his infidelity, Zerlina and Masetto navigate the rigid social ladder, and Leporello (Don Giovanni’s manservant) marvels at his master’s misdeeds. Will justice catch up to Don Giovanni, or will he continue his ways?
