The Harvard Music Department presents a portrait concert of George Lewis, the celebrated composer, electronic music pioneer, author and 2018 recipient of an honorary doctorate from Harvard University. Featured is the Boston premiere of Lewis’ Recombinant Trilogy, a series of virtuoso solo and live electronics works written for cellist Seth Parker Woods, bassoonist Dana Jessen and flutist Claire Chase. For this special performance at Harvard, Woods and Jessen join Prof. Chase and the Harvard New Music Ensemble for a rendition of Lewis’ 2007 Artificial Life for improvising orchestra.

This performance is free and open to the public with Harvard ID or proof of vaccination against Covid-19.
