Course description: Traditional drawings communicate the appearance of things from a fixed point of view at a frozen moment in time, whereas expressive drawing is about experiencing life from many points of view all contained in the same surface. Students will learn how the simple act of mark making on paper can serve as an outlet for creative expression. The class will explore examples of historic and contemporary expressionist artists while building their own voice through daily drawing exercises. Students are encouraged to meet on their own for “drawing circles”!
