About this Event
Add to calendarPursue your creative passion, explore arts and entertainment career options, and learn from leading artists and arts professionals during Wintersession 2021. Our January Arts and Media Seminars – JAMS! – offer students the time and space to try something new that would not be possible during the fall or spring semesters.
A collaboration with Garrett Parrish (MIT '17) Associate Production Designer at Walt Disney Imagineering, this two part workshop will begin with a session about environment, queue and attractions design and technology, using Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance as case studies, and continue with an exploration of parade and nighttime spectacular technology, such as floats, projection mapping, fountains and lighting. Expect some hands-on activities. The sessions are a set, but you can opt to take one or both.
Session 1: Technology and Theming in Lands and Attractions
Session 2: Creating a Nighttime Spectacular
