Be a part of ON DISPLAY HARVARD 2024, a movement installation and social justice initiative created by Heidi Latsky Dance! The work is performed annually on December 3 in commemoration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities. 

The OFA Dance Program has been an ambassador of the work for the last six years, presenting ON DISPLAY HARVARD at accessible locations across campus as well as virtually, building a community of partners and diverse performers to bring awareness of disability justice, art, and culture to Harvard's campus and beyond. It was a winner of the Harvard Culture Lab Innovation Fund (CLIF) in 2023 as part of Beyond Access.

This year, we’re thrilled to again be partnering with Harvard Art Museums to perform the work in the Calderwood Courtyard on Tuesday, December 3, 12-1pm. 

CALL FOR PERFORMERS

Students and community members with (apparent or unapparent) disabilities or without disabilities are all invited to participate as performers of ON DISPLAY HARVARD. No previous dance or performance experience required! 

Participation entails attending a training session on Thursday, November 21, 6-8pm, at Harvard Dance Center, and performing the work on Tuesday, December 3, 12-1pm, at Harvard Art Museums. 

Performers will create sculptural compositions of their own making, on their own terms, and which evolve in real time. Designed for all bodies and abilities, the work involves stillness, slow movement, structured improvisation, and internal focus. While it's meant to be durational, lasting one hour, participants will be offered options for shortening the time they are performing, as needed.

Total number of performers will be limited to 25 and prioritization will be given to Harvard students and affiliates. Graduate School of Design alumni duo (snobs._) will be creating one-of-a-kind wearable art pieces for each performer.

ACCESSIBILITY

Performance and training session sites are both accessibility for wheelchair and mobility devices. Audio description and haptic tours will be offered for Blind and visually impaired audience members attending ON DISPLAY HARVARD 2024.
