Add to calendarJoin the GSAS Student Center Food Literacy Fellows, Literary Fellows, and Intellectual and Cultural Fellows for a book talk with historian and former Food Literacy Project Coordinator at HUDS (2007-10), Dr. Theresa McCulla, author of Insatiable City: Food and Race in New Orleans. Dr. McCulla will explore how food has shaped culture, race, and power in New Orleans, from the era of chattel slavery to the rise of twentieth-century tourism. The talk will be followed by a Q&A session, where attendees can ask questions about the book, its themes, and the broader role of food in shaping social structures.
