DESCRIPTION:Since its inception in 2004\, MSI has sponsored and hosted an a
nnual symposium for those in the Harvard and greater Boston communities. T
he spring event showcases magnificent research across a breadth of microbe
-centric topics spanning environmental and biomedical sciences.\n\nJoin us
  for the 20th annual event on Saturday\, April 29\, 2023.\n\nThis year's s
ymposium features speakers from both the Biomedical & Environmental Microb
ial worlds. \n\nJohn F. Brooks II: Circadian Clock Regulation at the Host-
 Microbe Interface\n\nJeffrey Cameron: A recipe for a cell\n\nJames J. Coll
ins: Harnessing synthetic biology and deep learning to fight pathogens\n\n
Breck Duerkop: Phage-bacteria interactions\n\nJacqueline Kimmey: Circadian
immunity to Streptococcus pneumoniae\n\nAimee Shen: Novel mechanisms medi
ate bacterial cell division\n\nPaula V. Welander: Sterol physiology in bac
teria\n\nAnne Wyllie: Saliva for the detection of respiratory pathogens\n\
nand featuring a keynote by\n\nRichard Losick: How a bacterium revealed th
e greatest biological discovery of the 20th century\n\nWith SciArt by Roga
 n Brown\, Scott Chimileski\, Anna Dumitriu\, Semarhy Quiñones-Soto\, and
a workshop with Lori Shapiro.\n\nMid-morning and mid-afternoon breaks with
