Join members of the Harvard Longwood Community at the annual Mother’s Day Walk for Peace!

Violence is a critical public health issue for our local communities and we invite you to be part of the solution. The Harvard Longwood community and their family, friends, and colleagues are invited to join the 27th annual Louis D. Brown Peace Institute’s Mother’s Day Walk for Peace. The 4.3-mile walk will raise visibility on the issue and generate support for the important work of the Peace Institute in its goal to empower survivors and communities impacted by murder, trauma, grief, and loss to cultivate cycles of peace. The Peace Institute was founded by a mother who lost her son to violence and was committed to providing support for loved ones and to creating strategies to end violence in communities.

When: Sunday, May 14, 2023 (Mother's Day) at 8 a.m., with an 8:30 a.m. walk kick-off

Where: The walk starts and ends at Town Field Park in Dorchester

(free parking is available and MBTA stations are nearby)

Join our team as a walker! Go to www.mothersdaywalk4peace.org/HMS and click the "Join our Team" button. There is a $25 registration fee that you can select to waive if you wish. You can also help promote the team page with your connections and find additional details on the website.
