This month's seminar is given by James Kraemer, PhD and Andrew Stewart from Invaio: Accelerating the leap to nature positive agriculture

The seminar will be presented from 6-7pm in Haller Hall, Geological Lecture Hall Room 102; 24 Oxford Street.

From 5-6pm, join us for light refreshments & a networking session.

Invaio Sciences is a multi-platform technology company that unlocks the potential of the planet's interdependent systems to address pressing agricultural and environmental challenges. With mounting pressures from climate change, pesticide resistance, and government regulation, the need for sustainable and effective pest management strategies has never been more urgent. Through a multidisciplinary approach that integrates biology, chemistry, engineering, computational biology, and artificial intelligence, Invaio Sciences discovers new active ingredients and develops novel delivery technologies. In this talk, we will discuss Invaio’s approach to active discovery and development of scalable agriculture delivery technologies including Microbe Derived Particles (MDPs), Nature-inspired Lipid Nanoparticles, & our recently commercialized Trecise™️ system, which is being used in Florida to combat citrus greening. Special emphasis will be on our efforts in the application of the MDP technology for enhancing crop resilience while minimizing environmental impact. At Invaio, we’re driven to accelerate the leap to a more nature-positive era for agriculture. Building on advances in human health and digital innovation, we’ve pioneered an “active ingredient + delivery system” approach to develop breakthrough technologies for agriculture. The team at Invaio discovers and enables the delivery of new nature inspired bioactives to better meet the needs of farmers, society and the environment.

James Kraemer is an experienced microbiologist with a long-held belief that microbes can change the world. He currently serves as Head of Strain Development at Invaio Sciences in Cambridge, Massachusetts, leading an interdisciplinary team of scientist to drive Invaio’s peptide discovery and microbally-derived particle platforms. Prior to Invaio, James was a postdoctoral fellow at MIT with Michael Laub studying regulation of DNA replication in E. coli.

Andrew Stewart is a seasoned professional in the field of process development, with extensive applied chemical engineering and biotechnology experience. Currently serving as the Head of Process Development at Invaio Sciences in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Andrew leads efforts to develop scalable production processes for Invaio’s novel agricultural solutions. Prior to his current role, Andrew has held positions at E&J Gallo Winery, Synlogic, Clorox, & Amyris where he drove translation of innovative ideas to commercially viable production processes.

Before the seminar, join us for light refreshments & a networking session.
